Wilfrid Laurier University is transforming winter athletics with the addition of a new seasonal air-supported structure over University Stadium. Measuring 475’ x 250’ x 75’ and spanning more than 118,000 square feet of indoor recreational space, the facility was designed, manufactured, and installed by The Farley Group® to help maximize field usage while delivering dependable, all-weather performance. The project has already gained regional attention, with CTV News highlighting the new facility and its impact on student athletics and community sport. You can view the full story here.
By enclosing the stadium’s turf surface throughout the winter months, the structure provides varsity and recreational athletes with consistent, on-campus training space for football, soccer, rugby, lacrosse, and more. The expanded coverage enhances scheduling flexibility while supporting student-athletes as they balance academics, training, and campus life. Beyond varsity athletics, the facility creates valuable indoor field access for campus recreation programs, local sport organizations, and community user groups. Installed each December and removed following the May long weekend, which is also completed by The Farley Group’s service team, this seasonal solution allows the university to extend programming, optimize facility utilization, and support athletes and community sport throughout the winter season.
